Herta Müller: una poetica del Denkbild?

Abstract

The form of the Denkbild has not yet been defined as a specific genre and a comparative research is still trying to take out of short texts some common features, which could mark out this form. This paper aims to analyse some representative texts by Herta Müller, which could be useful in this research. In particular, these texts are taken from two collections published respectively in 1992 and 1984. The former is titled Eine warme Kartoffel ist ein warmes Bett and it is a collection of Kolumnen, which stay in a liminal way between the form of the feuilleton and the one of the socio-political and philosophical reflection; the latter, Niederungen, is a short stories collection, and it is the first publication of the writer. These texts, following the research guidelines proposed by Gerhard Richter and Andreas Huyssen, would respond to the features of the Denkbilder and could result as being part of these emblematic and sometimes hermetic short form of literature.
