Maurice Maeterlinck lettore di Emerson
Abstract
The article shows the relationship between Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949) and Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882), by relying on a selected number of examples. It focuses particularly on their double reflection of the Platonic myth of cave, and on Emerson’s influence on Maeterlinck with regards to Leibniz’s doctrine of ‘petites perceptions’.
